BRAND OVERVIEW

When I started Telltale, I wanted to find a way to use my business for good. Each December, I do a completely free rebrand for a non-profit organization and this year, I chose to work with OHOH.

Open Hands Overflowing Hearts is a non-profit organization supporting childhood cancer research.

When their founder Kayla was 18, she was diagnosed with Stage IV Neuroblastoma— a rare cancer found in the bone marrow. As she went through Chemo, radiation, a bone marrow transplant and brain surgery, her family wanted to create a way for people to give and serve that would affect ALL kids affected by cancer. Since launching in 2015, OHOH has donated over a million dollars to research with more on the horizon.

TARGET AUDIENCE

While OHOH has a huge and successful history, this past year showed a drastic plummet in donations and involvement. The previous branding targeted a much younger audience and while the children affected by childhood cancer are the center behind the OHOH mission, the target demographic must be the professional and affluent audience that’s able to contribute to the success of the organization. By re-identifying the audience and maturing the brand’s colors, typography and marks, we were able to change the entire vision of the brand.

BRAND CONCEPT

Aside from representing their name, the circle also represents our endless dedication to consistency, transparency, & authenticity. The awareness ribbon around the letter H symbolizes their commitment to sticking around for the long haul & our focus on sustainability while the integration of elements is meant to convey the concept that our solid, 2-way relationships with donors are what keep the passion for a cure alive.
